About Robyn Dobbins — Metabolic Health Advocate, Coach, and Community Leader

My passion for metabolic health advocacy grew from my own lived experience navigating mental illness and finding a path to recovery. Years ago, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, OCD, and depression — conditions that deeply affected my daily life and outlook. Discovering the therapeutic power of a low-carb ketogenic lifestyle not only supported lasting physical health improvements, including a 50‑pound weight loss, but also helped bring my symptoms into remission. This journey led me to speak openly about mental health, challenge stigma, and empower others to explore nutrition and lifestyle strategies for healing.
My journey toward metabolic health advocacy began in 2017 when I embraced this lifestyle, sparking profound healing and transformation in both my physical and mental well-being. Inspired by this life-changing experience, I have been deeply motivated to support others on similar paths.
I am a certified Advisor through the Nutrition Network and have completed the specialized Ketogenic Diets for Mental Health Clinician Training led by Dr. Georgia Ede. Additionally, I am an active member of the Society for Metabolic Health Practitioners, connecting me with the latest research and a professional community dedicated to metabolic wellbeing.
Driven by gratitude and a strong desire to give back, I volunteer for various metabolic health organizations, participate in clinical studies, and host the podcast Ketobiography, where I share stories and insights to educate and inspire individuals exploring metabolic health and mental wellness.

In September 2024, I was honored to be named one of ten finalists for the Metabolic Mind Fresh Start Award. This recognition celebrates individuals who face mental health challenges with courage and commitment to rebuilding their lives. Honesty and transparency are central to this mission, which is why I openly share my journey through podcasts, interviews, and educational discussions.

Documentary Feature

I’m honored that my family and I are featured as one of the stories in the upcoming documentary The Cholesterol CodeThis film follows engineer Dave Feldman’s journey from reversing pre-diabetes with a low-carb diet to confronting the medical establishment over his soaring LDL cholesterol. Blending personal story with investigative journalism, the film questions decades of conventional wisdom on cholesterol, diet, and heart disease. It challenges viewers to rethink what they’ve been told—and whether science or profit has shaped the narrative.

Community Leadership

In addition to coaching, I serve as Community Platform Lead for the nonprofit Metabolic Collective. In this role, I help build inclusive online communities that nurture authentic connections and peer support. Central to our work is the THINK+SMART framework — a toolkit developed by lived experience experts that helps members improve brain and body energy use through nutritional ketosis and sustainable lifestyle practices focused on Sleep, Movement, Avoidance of triggers, Rebuilding, and Tracking progress. Our communities amplify voices, share resilience stories, and encourage collective action to make metabolic therapies accessible to all.
